Did you know that Sharpie is making a huge 'comeback?' I say 'comeback' in quotes, as if they ever left! But Sharpie has really expanded its market, and its vision.
Take note:
Of course we all know Sharpie will work on almost anything, as it is a permanent marker. Their website has images where users have submitted their own projects, such as the porcelain coffee cup embellished with marker above.
YES, THESE ARE ALL DONE VIA SHARPIE MARKER.
Can you believe it? Einstein would be proud.
THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT STYLES & TIPS NOW.
This picture below was drawn with marker too!
I haven't tried the liquid pencil yet, but from the sketch above it looks like the perfect artist's tool.
Some projects hi-lighted on their website include Sharpie designed Sneakers, above.
We do use the oil-based paint marker at our house. I used them to make Christmas ornaments this year. I purchased ceramic ones at the craft store and me and the kids colored with them -- well, actually painted them with these paint pens. The colors were bright and paint really does look better than marker for some projects.
On another note, I found this image on DecorPad today, of a GORGEOUS wall treatment in a bedroom done by Rethink Design Studio. Look closely..... The pattern was drawn by hand in Sharpie Marker!
Happy New Year!
Hope it's a CReAtIVE and COLORFUL one!

Sharpies are fantastic! I use them all the time, but you have to be careful! Kids nowadays huff them. Terrible dumb miscreants, but I guess it's better than jenkem.

Sharpies are my friends! I have them in every color and every size! I use them all the time! The tiny ones are perfect for tossing into my handbag. Who knew something that we write with could cause so much excitement and happiness?! LOL. Happy New Year! All the best for a wonderful 2012.

I love sharpies and especially having a rainbow of them. Sadly, my artistic talent stops at making smiley faces. Love what creative people can do with something as basic as a Sharpie!!!
Hope your year is off to a fabulous start, Kellie!!
xoxo Elizabeth
